Subscriber Terms of Service

These Subscriber Terms (“Subscriber Terms“) apply to you if you purchase a paid subscription to access features of the Hidden Door platform. They are a supplement to — and are incorporated by reference into — the Hidden Door Terms of Service (the “Terms of Service“). Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

In the event of a conflict between these Subscriber Terms and the Terms of Service, these Subscriber Terms control with respect to your paid Subscription and the features accessible only to Subscribers, but the Terms of Service continue to control for everything else. By signing up for a paid Subscription, you agree to these Subscriber Terms.

1. Eligibility and Account

You must be:

At least 18 years old, or at least 13 years old with parental or guardian consent as described in the Terms of Service, with a parent or guardian who agrees to these Subscriber Terms on your behalf and is responsible for all charges.
Able to make legally binding payments or authorized by a parent or guardian who can.
To purchase a Subscription, you must have a Hidden Door account in good standing and provide a valid payment method accepted by us and our payments processor (currently Stripe).

2. Subscription Plans and Pricing

2.1 Plans

We offer one or more Subscription plans at the prices described at https://hiddendoor.co/pricing at the time of sign-up (each, a “Plan“). The features included in each Plan, the duration of each billing period, and the price are described on the pricing page and are incorporated into these Subscriber Terms at the time you subscribe.

2.2 Pricing and Taxes

Prices are shown on our pricing page and may be subject to applicable taxes, which will be added where required by law. Hidden Door or Stripe will calculate taxes based on the information you provide (such as billing address).

2.3 Price Changes

We may change our Subscription prices from time to time. For existing Subscribers:

Changes to the price of your current Plan will not apply to your current billing period;
For the next billing period after a price change, we will provide you with at least 30 days’ advance notice (by email or in-product notice) of the new price;
If you do not want to pay the new price, you may cancel before the next renewal.

3. Billing and Auto-Renewal

3.1 Automatic Renewal

Your Subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless and until you cancel. By signing up, you authorize Hidden Door (through Stripe) to charge the payment method on file for the applicable Subscription fee (plus taxes) at the beginning of each renewal period, at the then-current price.

The renewal length is the same as the initial Subscription term (for example, if you sign up for a monthly plan, your Subscription renews monthly; if annual, annually), unless we provide otherwise at sign-up.

3.2 Payment Method

You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file. If we cannot charge your payment method (for example, because it has expired or your bank declines the charge), we may suspend access to paid features, retry the charge, and eventually cancel your Subscription if the issue isn’t resolved.

3.3 How to Update or Cancel

You may update your payment method or cancel your Subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@hiddendoor.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (see Refunds below for details on timing and refunds).

3.4 Free Trials and Promotional Offers

We may offer free trials or promotional pricing. Unless you cancel before the trial or promotional period ends, your Subscription will automatically convert to a paid Subscription at the then-current price.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your Subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features through the end of that billing period.

4.2 Refund Policy

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or as otherwise determined by Hidden Door in its discretion.

4.3 Effect of Cancellation

On cancellation:

You will retain access to paid features through the end of the current billing period.
After the end of the billing period, your account will revert to non-Subscriber status.
Your User Content, Player engagement history, and other account data remain subject to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
If you have shared Player-Shared Content (including, but not limited to, Moments, Stories, Player World Variants) that is publicly visible on the Services, that content remains subject to the licenses you granted when you shared it.

5. Subscriber Features and Content

5.1 What You Get

Your Subscription provides access to the features and benefits described on our pricing page at the time of sign-up. We may add, modify, or discontinue features from time to time.

5.2 Your User Content as a Subscriber

The Terms of Service’s User Content provisions apply to your activity as a Subscriber, including the license grants and content responsibilities described there. Your Subscription does not change the ownership or licensing of Outputs, Inputs, or Player-Shared Content.

7. Changes to These Subscriber Terms

Hidden Door may update these Subscriber Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Services with reasonable advance notice (typically 30 days where feasible). If you do not agree to the updated Subscriber Terms, you may cancel your Subscription before the effective date; continuing to maintain an active Subscription after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

8. State-Specific Provisions

Nothing in these Subscriber Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes arising from your Subscription are governed by the dispute-resolution provisions of the Terms of Service, including the Agreement to Arbitrate. You retain any rights to bring claims in small claims court where those rights apply.

10. Miscellaneous

Relationship to Terms of Service. These Subscriber Terms supplement the Terms of Service. The Terms of Service’s provisions on arbitration, governing law, limitations of liability, indemnification, and similar matters apply to these Subscriber Terms and to disputes arising from your Subscription, except as expressly modified here or required by applicable law.

Survival. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination or cancellation (including payment obligations for periods before cancellation, the Terms of Service provisions, and dispute-resolution provisions) will survive.

No Assignment. You may not assign these Subscriber Terms or transfer your Subscription, except as permitted by us. Hidden Door may assign these Subscriber Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction.

Entire Agreement; Order of Precedence. These Subscriber Terms, together with the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the pricing page, and any plan-specific terms at the time of sign-up, are the entire agreement between you and Hidden Door relating to your Subscription. If there is a conflict, the order of precedence is: (1) these Subscriber Terms, (2) any plan-specific terms at sign-up, (3) the Terms of Service, (4) the Privacy Policy. State-specific provisions in Section 8 control over any conflicting provision elsewhere in these Subscriber Terms.
